The International Society for Diatom Research and the North-West University will host the International Diatom Symposium at the Skukuza Rest Camp in the heart of the Kruger National Park from 3-8 August 2025.
South Africa is a welcoming country with friendly people, a warm climate, and diverse natural life, offering visitors an unforgettable experience. The Kruger National Park is one of the largest conservation areas in southern Africa. It is the ideal venue to enjoy a combination of science and pleasure. You will have the chance to meet and talk to colleagues in adventurous atmosphere and, who knows, you may have the opportunity to see the big five (elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and lion) as well as an abundance of amazing bird, insect and plant life.
