October is Breast Cancer  Awareness month

Annually, early in October the BOSS lab hosts a cancer awareness event on the NWU Mahikeng and Potchefstroom Campuses in collaboration with the NWU Biochemistry Department and CANSA. In a fun and casual way we share information with students and staff about the prevention and early detection of not only breast cancer but also prostate, testicular, and cervical cancer. We also partner with CANSA to host a Shavathon to raise awareness and funds for those fighting the disease either as a patient or through doing research. You can Click here to view some pictures of previous events and here to view the details of this year's event.

Did you know that NWU students can book an appointment at the NWU Health Centre for a free breast examination and/or Pap smear at a very reasonable price? Please phone the NWU Campus Health Centre for more information:

018 299 4345 (Potchefstroom campus)
018 389 2495 (Mahikeng campus)
016 910 3163 (Vanderbijlpark campus)”
