The Animal Science programme intends to equip students with the necessary integrated and advanced knowledge and skills in animal science, animal production and management, with competencies in research and technology development. It also aims to give students work-integrated training in the practical application of scientific principles to animal production, while preparing the students for further academic studies. This will ultimately provide the critical skills to personnel with the capability to contribute to the development of the animal production sector and the agricultural sector as a whole in South Africa and the world over.
