Admission Requirements
A candidate qualifies for acceptance if he/she satisfies all the requirements prescribed for entry in NWU’s Doctoral (PhD), or has other qualifications which are deemed suitable and equivalent as approved by the Senate, or other qualifications that are deemed pre-requisites for entry into a PhD programme in Applied Radiation Science and Technology.

Qualifications in the programme
Duration
The programme is spread over a two-year period. It consists of 60 credits of advanced topics and a full research dissertation of 120 credits. The research is carried out in the laboratories at CARST or at the nuclear industry stakeholders such as NECSA, iThemba LABS, NNR, ESKOM, etc under the guidance of a qualified and approved study leader.
