Jamshid Moori is an Iranian-South African mathematician. He is an Extraordinary Research Professor at NWU, Mafikeng, South Africa; Fellow of UKZN, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at University of Birmingham, UK. He is an expert in Finite Simple Groups, Computational Group Theory, Representation Theory of Finite Groups and Applications of Finite Groups to Combinatorial Designs and Geometries. He currently works on Finite Groups and their interplays with Combinatorial Structures such as Designs, Codes and Graphs.

Bernardo Rodrigues is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Pretoria. Bernardo’s current research interests concern with the interplay between Algebraic Coding Theory, Finite Groups, Modular Representation Theory of Finite Groups and Combinatorial Design Theory as well as Computational Group Theory and Axial Algebras, including both the concrete and the abstract aspects of these subjects. He also works in problems related with the construction of non-associative axial algebras related to the sporadic simple groups.

Rebecca Waldecker is a Professor of Algebra at Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. Most of her current research projects stem from applications of group theory. This can be about using symmetry to improve algorithms or to solve problems in science outside of mathematics, about the structure of finite groups or specific applications of permutation group theory. She is fascinated by questions from other areas where symmetry plays a role or where a problem can be translated into a group theoretic problem and then solved. Also, she recently started working in projects about the history of group theory, specifically around the Oberwolfach Institute and the CFSG.

Sergey Shpectorov is a Professor of mathematics at University of Birmingham. Sergey´s research interests are in algebra, geometry, and combinatorics. The unifying theme is actions of groups: on geometries, graphs, Riemann surfaces, and, recently, axial algebras, which form an interesting new class of non-associative structures having applications in physics. In core group theory, Sergey is interested in finite simple groups, their classification, origin and properties of sporadic simple groups, and fusion systems. He is also interested in purely geometric and purely combinatorial questions, in particular, in the theory of diagram geometries and buildings, algebraic graph theory, and metric graph theory, including partial cubes and similar graphs with good metric properties.
