As the research focus expanded, the group was later renamed the Electrochemistry for Energy & Environment (EEE) Group. We are currently interested in the research and development of metal-based electrocatalysts and photo-electrocatalysts for their application in electrolysers and dye-sensitized solar cells. These materials include extended vapour deposited surfaces (thin films) and/or nanoparticles, to facilitate energy conversion and storage that include electrolytic reactions (oxygen evolution) and semiconducting photo-excitation.
