Terms & Conditions
By registering for and participating in GeeXpo 2025, all participants, schools, exhibitors, and attendees agree to the following:
- Originality of Work
All competition entries (for example, IT PAT projects and student displays) must be the original work of the individual submitting it. Plagiarism or misrepresentation will result in disqualification.
- Media Consent
Photographs and video recordings may be taken during the event for use in marketing, social media, and internal reporting. By participating in GeeXpo, you grant permission for such use unless otherwise requested in writing.
- Conduct and Supervision
Learners must be accompanied and supervised by educators or responsible adults at all times. All attendees are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and in accordance with NWU campus policies.
- Equipment Responsibility
Participants are responsible for any equipment they bring to the event (for example, laptops). The organisers will not be held liable for lost or damaged items.
- Data Protection (POPIA)
Personal information collected via registration forms will be handled in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Information will only be used for the purposes of event organisation, communication, and reporting.
- Safety and Emergencies
NWU Protection Services and emergency medical support will be available on-site. Please follow all safety protocols and report any incidents to the organisers immediately.
- Entry Fees
Participation in all GeeXpo competitions and exhibits is free of charge. No entry fee is required from schools, learners, or exhibitors.
- Prizes and Awards
Winners of various categories (for example, IT PAT and Maths Olympiad) may receive sponsored prizes or bursaries.

Bursary awards (for example, NWU Young Eagles) are subject to eligibility and institutional terms.

Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Judges’ decisions are final and not open to appeal.
- Event Amendments
The organisers reserve the right to amend the programme, categories, or format of the event without prior notice. Any updates will be communicated promptly via the registered contact details.
