An NEP-NRF grant of R10 000 000 was awarded to upgrade the liquid-sample capabilities of the 600 MHz Bruker NMR spectrometer. In addition, the NMR spectrometer will also be expanded to perform solid-state NMR. This 2-in-1 NMR spectrometer will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and will be the only 600 MHz solid-state NMR spectrometer in South Africa.
